Triples Tournament

Friday (the)13th! Bad luck for our bowlers in the Triples Tournament. The rain tried to take an early lead, but our bowlers calmly adjusted and eventually got to roll. The day started with a rain delay and we finished in the rain. Somewhere in between, we played some outstanding bowls and champions were crowned.

Pairs Tournament

On Saturday (the 31st) we hosted a Pairs Tournament, and it turned into a great day on the green. The morning started out a little chilly, but thanks to our early-morning crew, everyone was welcomed with hot beverages and some much-appreciated snacks. That combination went a long way toward warming both hands and spirits.

Joan, Nancy, and Steve handled morning hospitality — with a special shout-out to Cobi, who helped too but managed to disappear when the camera came out!

With coffee, treats, and snacks at the ready, players were able to ease into the morning before getting down to the serious business of bowling.

As you can see from the morning photo, the clear blue sky promised a beautiful day for bowling — and it delivered. It turned out to be the nicest, warmest day we’ve had on the green in a couple of weeks. As the temperature climbed, so did the level of play.

Adding to the atmosphere of the playoff games was a patio full of bowlers enjoying the sunshine — and wishing it was them out there playing.

The playoff atmosphere wasn’t limited to the patio. We also had another particularly interested pair of spectators, as Rick and Kevin found themselves relegated to watching their spouses bowl in the final instead of being out there themselves. Sometimes that’s just how tournament days go.
