Lessons
We’re always happy to introduce the sport of Lawn Bowling to Palm Creek residents. Lawn bowling lessons are provided every Thursday morning* from Mid-November (the unofficial start of season) through Mid-March.
Friday mornings are reserved for new bowlers to practice the techniques learned on Thursdays. All prospective members are required to take the familiarization lessons which assures that our green is protected and the games (called jitneys) go smoothly.

* Of course there are always last minute changes. Be sure to stop by during the week to check the bulletin board for any updates.

Because the manicured real grass playing surface (called “the green”) is delicate, lawn bowlers wear shoes that have flat bottoms, or tennis shoes that do not dig into the grass. You will learn more about this in your introductory session.
The Palm Creek green is made up of eight playing lanes called “rinks.” Each rink is 14 feet wide and 120 feet long. You will learn more about this, the bowls, the “jack”, and mats in your introductory session to lawn bowling.

“With a little practice this game can be played by just about anyone.” —
